Prosiect HIFS oedd yr astudiaeth ethnograffig gyntaf ym Mhrydain o rôl y gwyddorau fforensig a thechnolegau wrth ymchwilio i ddynladdiad. Yn nodedig, roedd yn cynnwys ystod eang o ddisgyblaethau fforensig a thechnolegau digidol, megis proffilio DNA, archwilio olion bysedd, dadansoddi patrymau gwaed, dehongli balisteg, dadansoddi tystiolaeth olrhain, a thystiolaeth ddigidol o ffonau symudol, cyfrifiaduron a theledu cylch cyfyng.
